PRODUCTION LOG 05
MED BAY AREA - OTHER PROPS
In addition to the assets showcased in previous post, I worked on a few more props to use in the scene, including display stands, monitors for patient beds, PC monitors, desk lamps, etc.
Display Stand
This model was inspired by patient monitors on stands used in hospitals (as seen below). It was modelled in Maya and it turned out to be more complex that I initially planned. I wanted to create a simple version of the real-life object and ended up with a more detailed prop. Eventually, I decided to keep it as that, even though the total polycount was over 20k. The model's UVs were done in RizomUV.

Desk Lamp
This is simple adjustable / cone lamp, modelled in Maya, with a total of 3k polycount. UV maps also done with Maya and exported with two different materials assigned, one for the lamp and one for the light bulb, which will receive an emissive material that I will create in Unreal Engine.

PC Monitor
When I modelled this asset, I used a generic monitor as a reference. It is made up of three elements, the monitor frame with the back cover, the base stand, and the screen. The total polycount is 2400. I utilised RizomUV for the UV maps, as it did better job than Maya. This model was also exported with two different materials assigned, one for the monitor (plastic) and one for the screen for which I plan to have different textures (ON and OFF screen).
