MUTAGEN Game - SANCTUM Bunker Level
This project involves the creation of a playable level prototype for the bunker environment, part of ‘MUTAGEN’, a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game set in a world destroyed by a deadly virus. The bunker, named ‘SANCTUM’, is a central level in the game, providing shelter and resources for the players.
As pointed out in the Game Design Document, the bunker features some key areas including Main Entrance and Security, Central Atrium, Command Centre, Hydroponics, Storage Room, Workshop, Medical Bay, Laboratory, Cafeteria, and Living Quarters. However, in this project, the focus will be on at least three key areas which will also be part of my Final Major Project. The project has been narrowed down to fewer areas due to the size of the bunker environment and development time constraints. The decision was made after carefully planning the development timeline and according to the feedback received on the environment layout. This also allows me to allocate time and resources more efficiently and deliver a high-quality final environment.
The three chosen areas to be developed are:
Command Centre (including the surrounding area) - a room with advanced computer terminals and surveillance screens used for monitoring the world outside of the bunker and for operations.
Hydroponics - a room dedicated to food production and medicinal plants within the bunker using nothing but water-based mineral nutrients; this room is critical for sustaining life in a post-apocalyptic world.
Medical Bay - serves as a crucial facility for medical care and treating injuries.
